Fire season

This last week, thanks to wildfires east and north and south of town, we have a haze of smoke ringing the horizon.  The haze creates an eerie scene (above).  Being asthmatic and a cyclist  it’s been a drag. My daily commute has been punctuated by wheeziness thanks to the particulate matter in the air.  Yet, darn it. There’s always a bright side. No, not a silver lining.  But, instead a pink hue.  At sunrise and sunset that’s made for some lovely light effects.

This normally white flower…PINK.

This already pink-fringed maple – PINKER!

And I love the way the pink light accentuates the detail of this just-off-the-tree, home-grown pear.
